The Basement

So I had the "great" pleasure (NOT) of cleaning out the basement of Thrifty Foods. I didn't realize how many creepy corners and little rooms, and secret stairways there was. Some of the employees tell me that they believe that it's haunted, and as I walk downstairs alone, i recall this memory. And we all know that sometimes our minds like to play tricks on us and make us see things that aren't there. The morale of the story is that I'm a paranoid. Anyways, the guy I was working with was showing me this like secret corner from our breakroom that has stairs that go up and are blocked by the ceiling. Like I don't understand where they could possibly have led to seeing that the floor beams are right above it. And I thought that maybe they were just stair-like shelves, but there was a hand railing... peculiar. I asked the guy what used to be in that building before Thrifty's and it was Canadian Tire. And I remember hearing something about the Canadian Tire or perhaps it was the old Safeway where somebody got killed in it... and it just freaks me out to think that I'm in a place where somebody's life was taken from them. Weird. Anyways, that's it for my ramblings for now.

Damn the Government

So I'm in the midst of applying to take an online course and I got a strange letter in the mail. It was from the Government Correspondance School and apparently my application form was filled out wrong. There's one glitch. I went to see the Correspondance councellor at school and she told me to wait a little bit longer and see what happens. If nothing happens call the Government school. I'm like okay... so glitch two in my plan to try to complete this class, which is turning out to be more of a hastle than anything. So yesterday I called the government at 4:15 in the afternoon. There is no answer but the answering maching picks up. "Our hours of operation are 8-12 and 1-5". What the hell... it's BEFORE FIVE. somebody answer the freaking phone. I hang up and wait 10 minutes. I call back and there's STILL NO ANSWER. WHAT ARE THEY PAID FOR! I leave a message with all of the requirements set out by the machine. They called back this morning around 9:00... obviously nobody is home. So I called back after school and this real bitch answers the phone. I give my name and say that I was contacted this morning about my message. She asks by whom: well lady, obviously if I'm calling you back i don't know who the hell called me. She asks more about my situation and I tell her. She exclaims that it was sent to the school like 2 weeks ago. I said that i've already talked to the school and they don't have it. she replies, "IT WAS SENT TO THE SCHOOL." I'm like okay, bye.
I HATE THE DAMN GOVERNMENT AND ALL OF THEIR SNOTTY WORKERS WHO ARE BITCHES WHO ARE SICK OF THEIR JOBS! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. okay i'm done. sorry... i know it wasn't a worthy story but i haven't blogged in a while.

List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist, and the song in your blog along with your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.

1)Holiday - Greenday. This song is the best "mood- picker-upper". It never fails me. I change to this song and I'm singing along withing 2 seconds. It's awesomely awesome.

2)Only One - Yellowcard. I know that I've been listening to this song for over a year now, but I heart yellowcard.

3)Please Take Me Home - Blink 182. I listened to this song while I was riding in a train last August so every time I listen to it, it reminds me of all the good times I had.

4)Trees - Marty Casey. I was just introduced to this song like 3 days ago. It's very catchy and now I just love it.

5)Only Know I Do - Adam Gregory. It's a mushy song... what can I say... I like it.

Summer... where did the time go.

Summer is nearing an end, which really really depresses me. It really hit me that school was starting soon... and I know school and starting in a sentence together is profanity to all ears but it's true... I bought my school supplies the other day, and nearly cried when I walked into a Staples (in Calgary) with a big "BACK TO SCHOOL SAVINGS" banner posted in the doorway. But on the brightside... I guess I am looking forward to things like the Christmas Banquet and other grad activities!

So I have returned from my Calgary excursion after spending oodles of money. I did put a limit on my spending, but that blew out the window. I can picture myself in like 10 years with 4 different credit cards... paying each of them off with another credit card because I'll be high maitenance and my husband/boyfriend won't be able to support may habit... shopaholism that is. I've become ruthless. The mall atmosphere intoxicates me with urges to spend all of my hard earned cash. but seriously when we put it into perspective... making less than 7 dollars an hour, you'd need to work over 3 hours to pay for a shirt. Like come on.

Oh i have a super exciting story to tell. So we're driving back from Calgary and we're just about at Maple Creek when it begins to rain. It's a little rain, that won't hurt us. That is until it starts to become terential downpour... we seriously couldn't see in front of our vehicle, so we had to pull over to the side of the hightwya. scary. and so it lightens up and we start to drive, then it starts to wickedly hail and rain again. we ended up having to pull over like 8 times. So finally, we're out of the storm when i look behind and the clouds and see a funnel cloud. it was SO freaky... this tornado starts to form... and it begins to get closer and closer to the ground... It was SO freaky. it eventually diminished, without touching the ground. but seriously, if we would have left like 5 minutes later, or stopped for any longer, we could have been right under the tornado. freaky. it's probably not a big deal, but it was for me.

Okay, wow, i've rambled on too long... so that's it for now!.
